Wall Sawing

About Wall Saw

Track-mounted wall saws cut precise openings in vertical and overhead concrete — perfect for new doorways, windows, mechanical chases, and bridge work. Including 2-foot-thick wall cuts at industrial facilities like Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula.

Wall sawing is the precision tool of concrete cutting. A diamond-bladed circular saw is mounted to a track bolted directly to the concrete and powered hydraulically — which means perfectly straight, square cuts in vertical walls, overhead slabs, beveled surfaces, and elevated structures. At Reliable Concrete LLC we run track-mounted wall saws for new door and window openings, HVAC and mechanical penetrations, foundation work, retaining wall cuts, bridge rehabilitation, and heavy industrial wall removal.

Wall sawing cuts up to 30 inches deep in a single pass. We have used the same equipment to cut 2-foot-thick concrete walls inside Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula — one of the most demanding industrial environments on the Gulf Coast. The track-mounted setup keeps vibration low so adjacent finishes, glazing, and equipment stay protected.

We scan every wall before we cut it. Walls hide more than slabs do — embedded rebar mats, PT bands, electrical chases, and plumbing. GPR scanning before the cut means the opening lands exactly where the drawings call for it without disrupting structural elements that need to stay intact. Available across Gulfport, Biloxi, Pascagoula, New Orleans, Mobile, and the surrounding 500-mile service area.

  • Vertical, overhead, and beveled cuts
  • Precise straight lines
  • Minimal vibration

  • New door and window openings
  • HVAC and mechanical penetrations
  • Foundation and retaining wall cuts
  • Industrial wall removal

Our wall saw process

  1. 01

    Layout & scan

We mark the opening to drawings, GPR-scan the wall to find rebar and conduit, and confirm depth and bevel angle.

  2. 02

    Track installation

Hydraulic track is anchored to the wall and leveled to keep the cut perfectly straight.

  3. 03

    Cut sequence

We cut in a controlled sequence — usually verticals first, then top and bottom — so the cut block stays supported until removal.

  4. 04

    Block removal

Cut sections are rigged out with chain, fork, or crane and hauled clear without damaging adjacent finishes.

Frequently asked questions

What is wall sawing used for?

Wall sawing is used to cut precise openings in vertical or overhead concrete — new doorways, window openings, HVAC penetrations, mechanical chases, foundation modifications, and full wall removal in industrial settings.

How thick of a wall can you cut?

Our track-mounted wall saws cut up to 30 inches deep in a single pass. For thicker walls we cut from both sides or move to wire sawing. We have cut 2-foot walls at Ingalls Shipbuilding using this exact setup.

Can you cut overhead?

Yes. The track mounts to the underside of a slab or to the side of a wall and the saw cuts at any orientation — vertical, horizontal, overhead, or beveled.

Will wall sawing damage the surrounding finishes?

No. Track-mounted wall saws are low-vibration and produce a clean, straight cut. We protect adjacent surfaces with poly, blankets, and edge containment so finishes stay intact.

Do I need to scan before wall sawing?

Yes. Walls hide rebar mats, PT bands, conduit, and plumbing. We GPR-scan every wall opening before the saw goes on the track so the cut path avoids critical embeds.
