Concrete Cutting

About Concrete Cutting

From flat saw cuts in slabs to wall sawing, wire sawing, and hand sawing in tight spaces, our crews handle every type of concrete cutting work commercial GCs and industrial clients need. We cut clean, dust-controlled, and on schedule.

Concrete cutting is the controlled removal or modification of hardened concrete using diamond-tipped saws. At Reliable Concrete LLC we provide every method of professional concrete cutting commercial general contractors and industrial facilities need — flat sawing for slabs and pavement, wall sawing for vertical and overhead cuts, wire sawing for thick or oddly shaped sections, and hand sawing for tight access work.

Every cut starts with a GPR scan. We locate rebar, post-tension cables, conduit, and embedded utilities before the blade ever touches the surface. That single discipline is the difference between a clean cut on schedule and a six-figure delay from a severed PT cable. Our crews are OSHA-compliant, fully insured, and equipped with dust collection and slurry control to keep occupied buildings, hospitals, and operating industrial plants clean while we work.

We work day shifts, night shifts, and weekends across Gulfport, Biloxi, Pascagoula, New Orleans, Mobile, and the entire Gulf Coast region. Whether the scope is a single doorway opening or a multi-week industrial retrofit, the phone gets answered by Rocky Ruckman, the owner, and the same crew shows up to do the work.

Our concrete cutting process

  1. 01

    Scope review

We walk the site or review drawings, confirm cut locations, dimensions, depth, and any access or schedule constraints.

  2. 02

    GPR pre-scan

Every structural cut is scanned first to locate rebar, PT cables, and conduit so we can adjust the cut path before mobilization.

  3. 03

    Setup & containment

We set dust collection, slurry containment, and edge protection so the surrounding area stays clean and undisturbed.

  4. 04

    Precision cutting

Our crews execute the cut using the right saw for the job — flat, wall, wire, or hand — to deliver square, clean edges.

  5. 05

    Removal & cleanup

We coordinate hauling and disposal of the cut sections and leave the work area swept and ready for the next trade.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between flat sawing and wall sawing?

Flat sawing (also called slab sawing) uses a walk-behind saw to cut horizontal surfaces like floors, pavement, and bridge decks. Wall sawing uses a track-mounted saw to make precise vertical, overhead, or beveled cuts in walls and elevated structures. We do both.

Can you cut concrete inside an occupied building?

Yes. We use HEPA dust collection, slurry containment, and electric saws where needed to keep airborne dust and water under control inside hospitals, casinos, hotels, and active industrial plants.

How deep can you cut concrete?

Flat saws cut up to about 24 inches deep in a single pass. Wall saws cut up to about 30 inches. Wire saws can cut sections several feet thick when needed — including the 2-foot walls we cut at Ingalls Shipbuilding.

Do you handle removal and disposal of the cut concrete?

Yes. We coordinate hauling, dumpsters, and disposal so the cut sections leave the site cleanly. Just tell us what you want done with the spoils.

Are your crews insured and OSHA-compliant?

Yes — fully insured for commercial and industrial work and trained to meet OSHA silica, fall protection, and confined space requirements.

How fast can you get on site?

Same-day or next-day across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Within 24–48 hours for New Orleans, Mobile, and the broader 500-mile service radius. Emergency response is available 24/7.
